"Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps"

With all the new movies out there we hedged our bets and went with Michael Douglas. Unfortunately except for the opening scene, there is very little of Michael Douglas for about the first 30-40 minutes. So while money might not sleep, I certainly wanted to. And two and a half hours was much too long.
Maybe if I had a background in finance or understood the stock market better I might have liked this movie more. So maybe that's a reason not to sell it short.
Shia Labeouf takes over as the new young Wall Street hotshot, Josh Brolin steps in as the newest villian and Michael Douglas is semi-villainous reprising his Gordon Gecko role. Charlie Sheen makes an interesting cameo as Bud Fox, running into Douglas at a charity event.
Labeouf is in love with Gecko's daughter and after introducing himself to Gecko they strike up an alliance of sorts, with interesting results for all. OK, interesting for them, somewhat less for me after so long.
I did enjoy the seven previews before the movie, including a promo for a new Vince Vaughn/Kevin James movie which looks promising.
