The Fireball Run

A post that is well overdue.
While similar to "The Cannonball Run" in that it is a cross-country car race, the Fireball Run is so much more. Or as it's officially titled, The Fireball Run's Race to Recover America's Missing Children.
The nine-day race to bring attention to and hopefully help recover missing children began in Henderson, LV, Sept. 25 and was slated to end in Galena, IL. Along the way the teams of drivers would plaster local towns with flyers of specific individuals they had been assigned to bring awareness.
Melanie and I met Tim Warden and Chris Nielsen from Wisconsin while they were looking for five tourists to take a picture with at the Grand Canyon.
Warden and Nielsen were assigned team number 65 and were making an effort on behalf of Kayla Berg, a 17-year-old girl from Antigo, WI, who was last seen just over a year ago.
The three-year race has seen some success in its efforts.
"We've (Fireball Run) helped locate 26 people," Nielsen said of the race's track record.
