Redskins-Packers

What a difference a game makes.
Not in the outcome or in the way it ended-the Skins played their fourth game of the season down to the final play-but rather in the atmosphere.
When Melanie and I went to the season-opener against the Cowboys, the tension (and blantantly-hostile attitudes) between Skins and Boys fans was palpable. It was interesting walking to the stadium to hear the amount of abuse each heaped on the other. Inside the bowl, it was definitely not the friendly confines.

Chief Zee and me
Fast-forward to Sunday and the 180 was amazing.
The rabid enthusiasm and love for the Redskins was still there, with the exception of the drunk below us who insisted on giving Donovan McNabb the finger after every offensive play in the third quarter, but the previous verbal visciousness had all but disappeared. It was interesting, there weren't many comments aimed directly at Packers fans; however I have never heard so many derogatory comments about cheese. Maybe it was respect for the Packers fans that they didn't take a bunch of crap, but I think it's hard to abuse someone wearing cheese on their heads. I mean, isn't that the silliest thing anyway?

The brain trust
The walk to the stadium Sunday was good. My dad and I ran across Chief Zee, who has been an iconic fan for years. He was more than happy to pose for pictures even though it like he was trying to get to the stadium himself and took time out to talk to us.
