Ho Ho Ho

In our household, the majority of the Christmas spirit was right where it should have been, with the younger generation.

In 2019, 2-year-old Harper knew Christmas was something special, but it hadn’t grabbed her just yet. This year, she was fully aware, encouraged by her older brother of course, of Santa and all that entailed.

Each day for weeks leading up to the 25th, Harper would excitedly announce “Christmas is almost here!” You could literally see the glint in her eye. The biggest fight between Connor and Harper-well among them-was the battle to take off the panels on the advent holiday tree. They were supposed to alternate days, but often it was determined by who made it down the stairs first in the morning.

Surprisingly, they stayed in bed until 6:45 Christmas morning. Once activated, however, there was no stopping them. There was no race down the stairs, rather seemingly a competition to see who could squeal with glee the loudest.

After that it was just a blur of wrapping paper.
